What you need to know before you file

Two questions to answer before you file

01 Should I claim early or wait?
02 If I am divorced, what benefits am I entitled to?
$150K+

The Problem

Most people file Social Security without knowing the rules.

The consequences are permanent and costly. A few decisions, made once, follow you for the rest of your life.

30%
Permanent benefit reduction if you file 5 years before Full Retirement Age, locked in forever
23%
Automatic benefit cut projected by 2033 if the trust fund depletes without Congressional action
85%
Of your Social Security can be subject to federal income tax, and most people do not see this coming
35yrs
Your benefit is built on your top 35 earning years, and zeros count against you if you come up short
Filing Social Security is the single largest financial decision most Americans will make in retirement, yet most people spend less time on it than they do choosing a new car. This webinar changes that.

Session Roadmap

What you will walk away knowing

Six modules. Ninety years of history distilled into decisions you can act on today.

01
Where Social Security came from Why it was created during the Great Depression, and what it was never designed to do
02
How your benefit is actually calculated The 35-year rule, zero-year penalties, and what your Social Security statement is not telling you
03
Claiming early versus waiting Claiming at 62 vs. 70 can mean 77% more monthly income for the rest of your life
04
How divorce impacts your benefits Why ex-spouse benefits and ex-survivor benefits follow completely different rules, plus the strategies most people miss entirely
05
The 2033 trust fund reality What a 23% automatic cut would mean in real dollars, and how to build a plan that absorbs it
06
Why coordination is everything How Social Security interacts with your 401(k), IRAs, annuities, and life insurance, plus why optimizing one piece in isolation costs you

The 2033 Reality

The math behind the shortfall is simple. The consequences are not.

Workers per retiree in 1945
42
Paying in for every 1 retiree drawing benefits. The program ran surpluses for decades
Workers per retiree today
2.7
Falling below 2.5 by mid-century. Annual costs now exceed payroll tax income since 2021
Projected automatic cut in 2033
23%
A $2,000/month benefit drops to $1,540, a loss of $5,520 per beneficiary, per year

Social Security is not going away, but the rules will change. The question is not whether to worry. It is whether your plan can absorb a 23% reduction without collapsing. This webinar shows you how to build one that can.

Caroline specializes in helping individuals and families within 15 years of retirement build structured, protection-first financial plans, starting with a Social Security Audit before any other planning begins. As a Registered Social Security Analyst, she has helped clients identify filing strategies that maximize lifetime benefits, coordinate spousal and survivor income, and close the 60 to 70% income gap that Social Security was never designed to fill. Her approach is strategy, not products, and she does not work with clients who are not ready to plan.

Before You Register

Common questions

Is there a cost to attend?
No. This webinar is completely complimentary. There is nothing to buy, no upsell, and no obligation of any kind.
Will there be a sales pitch?
No. This is a no-sales educational event. Caroline’s job in this session is to inform, not to sell. If you want to discuss your personal situation after the webinar, that is available separately.
Should I bring my spouse?
Absolutely, and we strongly encourage it. Spousal timing, survivor benefits, and coordinated filing strategies require both spouses to understand the picture. Many couples discover they have been planning independently when they should have been planning together.
Do I need to prepare anything?
No preparation needed. You may want to have your most recent Social Security statement handy (available at ssa.gov) but it is not required. Just show up ready to learn.

The best retirement plans are built
